I live near Baton Rouge and I myself am an evacuee. I lost my home and my job when Katrina hit. Now,6 months later I am in a nice 1 bdrm apartment. I have furnished it with some things that were salvagable from my damaged home. (it was crushed, not flooded). I have also bought new luxuries like this computer. I have food to eat, cigs to smoke, beer in the fridge. I am very depressed sometimes, but I try not to dwell on my losses. I am a little edgy sometimes because I still have to fix my home and acerage which is about 100 miles from where I live now. I have about 25 oak trees about 3' in diameter, stumps and roots sticking out of the ground evrywhere out there. But the reason I am living ok now is because I made it happen. HOW?...I got a job in Nov in Baton Rouge. I am a cook, so I went to work at a restaurant. The place is so short-handed that I got a good raise within the first month. plus since no one wants to work I get loads of O.T..Why cant others do the same? GET JOBS

Some lazy pukes expect the feds to support them forever-thanks to Bush & his private war we don't have the $ to even rebuild the levees properly-these assholes are making it (levee) the SAME as before-only good up to a category 3-I love N.O., but I wouldn't live there for just that reason.
